How can we reduce the impact of the crisis and support the country’s growth?

To overcome the impact of the economic world crisis in our country, the Federal Government has announced several programs, focused on boosting strategic areas for national development, including:

• PyMES support.
• Strengthen enterprises’ competitiveness.
• Infrastructure investment.
• Considering the last item, it is being presumed that it will be an immediate investment of more than $550,000 million pesos to revive the economy.

State and municipal governments will receive most of these funds, therefore they are accelerating some of their strategic projects to help some sectors to keep up their productivity or at least minimize negative effects.

In this context, the Congreso de la Unión is working on the required changes for the laws and regulations related to these emerging programs, specially on the expedite use of the budget to be ready as soon as possible, in order for the people in charge of each area to start as soon as possible.

Without doubt, these initiatives entail that government employees and IT managers of the involved institutions, will be
better prepared to:

• Make faster decisions.
• Execute budgets as soon as possible.
• Efficiently follow up and make sure of correct usage of allocated resources.
• Report results to the citizen and to proper instances.
• Given the circumstances, information technology solutions become key tools that enable official employees to achieve better control of projects and budgets, and to use their resources fast and efficiently, to help organizations reach their short and long-term goals.
